The cōmodo was reborn from the walls of a former hospital and transfers mid-century atmosphere into a modern mountain refuge. The 70-room boutique hotel was designed by the duo Piotr Wisniewski and Barbara Elwardt of weStudio. Berlin’sr studio created a warm and inviting atmosphere via bold shapes and a strong color palette.

The lobby is the heart of the hotel. Among others, guests can find the iconic sofa Camaleonda by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia here. Also, weStudio had more than 117 unique pieces manufactured exclusively for the hotel – from beds, side tables, lamps and counters to cupboards and the bar. The designs were made of exclusive materials such as Sölker marble, Lapponia Verde granite, Travertino Classico and Rosso as well as premium fabrics.

Besides design, art plays a leading role in the hotel and stages some of the world’s most renowned and rising talents. The restaurant pairs nature vies with traditionally made wines, classic cocktails and modern Alpine cuisine. Everything is all about the ‘farm-to-table’ approach, which focuses totally on sustainability.

The boutique hotel in Austria’s Alps is an ode to the modernist style of the 60s and 70s.
