The legendary Brown’s Hotel in London has a new suite – and for its design was able to win over one of the city’s creative sons: Paul Smith. Art was the source of inspiration for the fashion designer. Further, the “Sir Paul Smith Suite” in the Brown’s Hotel designed by him personally in collaboration with Olga Polizzi, Director of Design bei Rocco Forte Hotels, convinces with custom made furniture, unique vintage pieces, selected art and noble interior pieces from the first Paul Smith Home Collection.
Leaning on the history of the hotel as a popular meeting point for literary prominence, the suite was designed not only as a place to rest and relax but also to foster inspiration and creativity via art and interesting design objects. From the rugs to art objects, every design piece was selected with great attention to detail.
Some pieces were formerly in the designer’s office. Among them Christopher Simon Sykes’ impressive photography of the Chatsworth House library as well as a leather 70s office chair by Mario Bellini. As another personal detail, the designer integrated a small library of art and design books in the suite. Every piece of furniture and art mirrors his own taste.
“I am excited that we could integrate design objects that inspire me personally and I hope that, in turn, they can inspire the guests of the suite.” – Paul Smith
