Embrace life
When it comes to distinctly high-quality and exceptionally designed furniture, Moroso, a family-owned company based in Udine in northern Italy, is certainly one of the finest addresses in the world. Founded in 1952 by Agostino Moroso, the second generation in the person of Roberto and Patrizia took over the reins of the company in the 1990s and continues to run the business in the founder’s spirit with vision and boldness.
Accordingly, Patrizia Moroso, the company’s art director, sums up her view of design: “The story of Moroso is the story of our relationships with designers – people who, with intelligence and passion, try to change the world for the better. I ask them not to imagine a single object, but to imagine a new world and project it into the future.”
This Moroso world is a colorful one that celebrates contrasts and diversity, and where design is understood as a way of embracing life. Design here, then, is not a simple production factor, but a passion that, beyond the aesthetic dimension, awakens emotions that can become part of living spaces.
Moroso shares this passion with some of the best designers in the world. Over the years, the company has collaborated with such great names as Patricia Urquiola, Antonio Citterio, Tom Dixon, Marcel Wanders, Sebastian Herkner, Werner Aisslinger and Nipa Doshi & Jonathan Levien, for example, creating its vision of a new world.
