Il Sereno is only 50 minutes away from Milano’s city center or the Malpensa airport. Compared to the bustling life in the fashion capitol, life is very contemplative here. Designer Patricia Urquiola – who was born in Spain but lives in Milano – was drawn to this project because of its unique location. While other hotels around Lake Como are furnished classically or even pompously, her contemporary, low key design sets a contrast.
With natural materials such as stone, wood and wool, Urquiola created an aesthetic of timeless personality in the 30 suites and public areas. The design concept further supports the principles of its sister house Le Sereno in Staint-Barthélemy. Both hotels are exclusive, cultivated and provide superior service – yet low-key and relaxed.
