Such a modern minimalistic hotel like the C-Hotel & Spa is unique in the area around Lake Como – that is almost paved with grand palazzos and villas – and an absolute rarity. “I wanted to create a resort that can bridge styles in order to be modern but uninfluenced by fashion”, says owner Andrea Colzani.
Hence, the idea of a timeless design stands in the center of the concept: “In my opinion, there is too much steel, plastic and vinyl in contemporary buildings, which makes the rooms ascetic and lacking character. These materials also lead to the buildings becoming obsolete quickly”, Andrea Colzani is convinced and instead focuses and natural materials like stone and wood.
Especially the rare, whitish limestone, which was extracted from the close by Berici hills, gives the hotel an inviting and characteristic appearance. Together with the lighting, that puts everything in an amber shade, a calming place that brings a new design sensibility to the area arises.
