At Tanja Fischbach and Christoph Aberegg’s Churrasco, you can experience fusion on many levels. In the kitchen, Japanese and Peruvian ingredients merge to create what is known as Nikkei cuisine, and the restaurant is a cheerfully eclectic work of art.

The ceiling is so lush with greenery, it’s as if you’re sitting in a jungle; underneath, furniture made of natural materials, colorful ikat and wild leopard prints get along surprisingly well.

The dining lounge is adorned with traditional wall and ceiling bracing, and those who like a little more privacy can book the Japanese separee in red, where floor-length velvet curtains multiply in the ceiling mirroring.

On the brick walls in the leopard room there is a mural from both Japanese and Peruvian history
