Downstairs a stylish bar, upstairs upscale star cuisine: the “Bayleaf” profits from its sister gastronomy, the “Ox & Klee” restaurant on the second floor of Cologne’s Kranhaus 1 at the Rhine river. Those who order one of the sophisticated drinks, will get a matching snack or even a whole meal with it.
The “Pairing Menu” combines drinks and meals according to the taste of the makers. We find fjord trout with topinambur, crimson curry and beluga lentils with a “Thy High” of Gin Mare, grapes and lemon thyme as well as ox cheeks with onions, cucumber and sour creme with “Avocatini” made of Avion Reposado, an avocado infusion and lemon grass.
Besides the “Pairing-Menu”, the place also offers tapas, salads, ham or banana bread at the bar.
