For design and architecture fans the address of this restaurant alone is a highlight. The Ox & Klee is located in one of Cologne’s most exciting building projects of the past years, namely in one of the three rectangular “Kranhäuser” built by Hamburg’s architect Hadi Teherani.
In 2016, Daniel Gottschlich moved into the second floor of Kranhaus Nummer 1 directly at the Rhine River. He and his team directly received 16 Gault&Millau points and a Michelin star. With that success, he is definitely among the city’s chefs with the best views – and with the greatest talent.
The changing menu features refined creations such as scallops with dry-aged beef and fennel-dill cream as well as char with poultry-tapioca, dandelion and truffles. The conclusion of Michelin’s testers: “The ambience is chic and super modern, the cuisine full of finesse and contrast.”
If you order the nine-course tasting menu at the Chef’s Table for eight people, you get a complimentary bottle of Bollinger champagne.
