Perth’s Ritz-Carlton clearly refers to the natural beauty of the surrounding region. Timeless luxury stands in the foreground with this homage to Western Australia and becomes somewhat of a riddle.

The pink glass that shines on the outside refers to Northwest Australia’s pink diamonds, while yellow glass reminds of the long beaches around Perth or Broome. Around 10,000 sand stone pieces lets one think of the remote Kimberley region.

They are arranged to add up to a wave format. And the chandelier in the 13 meter high lobby reminds of the waterfalls in the dramatic Karijini gorge.

A six meter long wall sculpture of local artist Jon Denaro contains local artifacts that were found on the premises. It can be found in the lobby.
