It took thirteen years to construct the headquarters of the Oslo Lysverker electricity company, and in 1930 the building by renowned Norwegian architects Andreas Bjercke and Georg Eliassen was completed. In the early 2020s, LPO Arkitekter and GrecoDeco carefully brought the impressive building into the now, transforming it into a hotel with more than 200 rooms.

Aesthetically, historic details and contemporary design, Nordic functionalism and lush Art Deco skillfully meet to create a nostalgic, occasionally romantic journey through time with all the comforts of the 21st century. The colors and patterns in the rooms, restaurants, and lobby are inspired by Norwegian artist Gerhard Munthe, the chandeliers by those in the city’s town hall, and the bedheads impress with refined marquetry.
