With their fine dining restaurant Lode & Stijn in Kreuzberg that opened in April 2016, the two Dutchies Lode van Zuylen and Stijn Remi quickly became an integral part of Berlin’s gastronomy scene. In August 2020, they started their second restaurant project in Berlin.

“For the Remi we were inspired by the Grand Cafés of our home country in which we always liked to enjoy joint dinners. We wanted to create a space in which you can meet casually – whether to read a newspaper, eat a quick lunch or a lengthy dinner”, says Stijn Remi.

The restaurant located on the ground floor of the Suhrkamp publishing house on the Rosa Luxemburg-Platz was designed by Ester Bruzkus Architekten; a lively brasserie with reduced design that convinces through the interplay of thoroughly selected and crafted materials.

“We want to shine with simplicity and great products – meals that are uncomplicated and fun.” Stijn Remi
