To be awarded two stars with the first mention in the Guide Michelin is a huge success. In 2012, the Maaemo achieved this rare accomplishment after only having been opened for two years. Four years later the third star followed and finally catapulted Oslo’s restaurant and chef Esben Holmboe Bang into the hall of fame of the New Nordic Cuisine.
In 2020, the team moved to a new location and also had the interior design revamped. The result is an original and exciting mix of coziness and theatrics that combines high comfort with effectual details and therewith creates the perfect frame for one of Scandinavia’s best kitchens.
