La Mamounia in Marrakech was described by Winston Churchill as “the most beautiful place in the world”. The legendary hotel is hidden in the secret alcove of a courtyard adorned with columns and Moorish friezes, ancient olive trees, rose gardens, orange trees and thousands of other plant species. It stands in the middle of eight hectares of gardens that were given to Prince Mamoun as a royal wedding gift in the 18th century. In 1923, this oasis was transformed into a hotel that combines Arabic and Andalusian architecture with Art Deco influences.

Already extensively renovated in 2020 under the main responsibility of Jouin Manku, the building was renovated again for its 100th birthday in 2023 according to the plans of the same office. Since then, the visit has been even more impressive. The reception, the alcoves, the Bar Majorelle, the Pavillon de la Piscine and the Bar de la Piscine have all been redesigned. In addition, two impressive installations by Czech glass and design manufacturer Lasvit in the Tea Room and the Italian restaurant pay tribute to traditional Moroccan architecture and bring a breath of fresh air to the luxurious location.
