By now, every third visitor of Copenhagen states the food as the reason for their trip. That could also be due to Rosio Sanchez.

She used to be pastry chef at the Noma, until her yearning for a well made taco became overwhelming. So the 35-year-old with Mexican roots founded the Hija de Sanchez with currently four branches, where, according to foodies, you can enjoy Europe’s best tacos: perfectly roasted and intensely juicy flavor explosions.

The design by Thomas Lykke and Anne-Marie Buemann (OEO Studio) is just as impressive: a color palette of pastel pink, sandy yellow and cobalt blue, concrete walls, tables of different heights, cacti, a cantina feeling.

Wall rugs by Mestiz bring Mexico to Copenhagen. For the Cantina, artist Rubén Tamayo contributed two rugs in rich, bright colors in a customized size.
