Cooking spoons are busy again in the old rooms of Noma, which was elected best restaurant in the world several time. And that with great verve! Because the Barr hurrahs the cooking tradition of New Zealand.

With René Redzepi, who was awarded two Michelin stars as the chef of the Noma, the co-founder of the New Nordic Cuisine is responsible in the Barr’s kitchen. Creations such as glazed cod with kale, smoked bacon and whey sauce or Fanø soup with beach herbs, plaice and  Bakskuld are typical Redzepi-interpretations of traditional meals of the regions around the North Sea.

The color and material palette of the interior are also inspired by the Nordic spirit: broad oak floorboards, roughly scoffed white brick walls and the wooden beams create a warm and cozy atmosphere.  The oak wood of the furniture stems from the area around Copenhagen.

The beer menu! After all, the restaurant’s name means ‘barley’ in Old Nordic – not a coincidence.
