The focus of this restaurant on Madrid’s Calle del Barquillo focuses on the topics of sourcing and traceability of the products used. Hence AÜAKT targets an audience that is all about healthy eating. The interior design is also traceable: It is the creative work of the studio Madrid in Love. It stages an informal atmosphere with rough elements of concrete, plaster, porcelain, leather and wood. Playful, inviting, entertaining and spiced with a touch of luxury, the concept is based on the Japanese Wabi-Sabi philosophy and on the central theme: the beauty of the imperfect.
The name AÜAKT refers to “aguacate”, the Spanish word for avocado – and is just as minimalist, cheeky and sophisticated as the interior. An eye catcher: the “Tèkio” lamps by Anthony Dickens
