After a year of closure, Copenhagen’s top restaurant STUDIO has reopened in the vibrant new Carlsberg Byen district on Ottilia Jacobsen’s Square, where the original source of the world-famous brewery’s water once gushed forth.
The new location was also an inspiration for the interior design itself. The desire was to create as honest and direct a connection as possible to modern Scandinavian dishes. The spring therefore served as the root of the idea of working with the four elements: earth, water, air and fire.
Inspired by this, artist Frederik Lassen Hesseldahl created the dynamic wave that sweeps across a giant mirror on the front wall of the restaurant and creates a feeling of life in the room.
The interior design by ATM Design Studio is a beautiful blend of old and new, using many of the same references, such as the intricate tiles and furniture found at the previous location in the city center.
