Soho House Design has not only preserved the architectural history of the building in the Cidade Matarazzo in the Bela Vista district, but has also worked with local artisans to source Brazilian-made and designed interiors. The interiors are inspired by the city’s rich Portuguese heritage and Brazilian modernism.

The house is built around a central courtyard framed by large arched glass windows. From the courtyard, there are several entrances to the Sitting Room, an area that can be used for working during the day, the Main Bar, where DJ performances take place, and the Game Room with a pool table.

The 32 rooms vary in size – from tiny to spacious. The larger rooms have free-standing bathtubs and living areas, and some have a private terrace – ideal for large parties or an after-dinner drink.

The lighting and furnishings in all rooms are locally sourced, as are the wooden floors and hand-painted tiles in the bathrooms. All fabrics and accessories were made in Brazil or handcrafted in São Paulo.

In the entrance area, colorful chandeliers with crystal lanterns illuminate the lobby from all sides.
