The Dome restaurant in the family-friendly beach hotel Potato Head offers casual yet refined dishes made from local ingredients. Chef Diego Recarte’s creative approach is a modern interpretation of South American and European cuisines.
The renowned architecture firm OMA is responsible for the blend of modern design and environmentally conscious aesthetics. At the center: a room inspired by historic cisterns. The interior rejuvenates the centuries-old typology through the use of contemporary local materials and construction techniques.
The highly reflective blue epoxy floor is reminiscent of the water in a cistern. The matching blue color of some of the furnishings and furniture reinforces the impression. The round bar stands like a
stainless steel monolith in the room. A stark contrast: Indonesian tribal sculptures from the Asmat people.
Sustainable design elements include reclaimed wood and furniture, antique carpets and the upcycled cotton uniforms worn by staff.
A curated selection of books on architecture, design, art, food and wellness is available in the communal area under the skylight.
