Palazzo Velabro stands in the heart of Rome – near the church of San Giorgio al Velabro and inside the Imperial Forums. Built in the first half of the 18th century, the building was restored in the 1960s by Luigi Moretti, a representative of 20th century rationalism.

Today, the main features of the building’s history are still visible: from the 18th-century architecture – which is fully preserved both in the facades and in the internal layout of the rooms – to the signs of Moretti’s interventions. His approach was that of a sculptor rather than an architect, and he gave Velabro a personal touch by shaping the corners like curved lines.

Milan-based Garibaldi Architects was hired for the current renovation, including new interior design. The prestigious historical context was to be enhanced while creating a cozy space. Contemporary art objects meet original, old and custom-made design objects here.

In 27 design suites and six rooms, guests can enjoy an exclusive stay that combines the intimacy of a living room in a private residence with the comfort of hotel services such as restaurant, gym and cinema
