The building from 1933 in neo-kolonial style with the Grand Hotel Montesol was completely redesigned by Dorothée Meilichzon. After finishing the restaurant and the bar in 2021, she focused on the rooms two years later.
Meilichzon’s designs give the whole interior an unconventional look and are also a homage to the historic past of the building. Cool, calming colors balance the Balearic heat, lush fabrics with loads of patterns, fringes and pompons deliver optical warmth.
Cosmic elements can be found throughout the house – from moon carvings to brass suns and heavenly shades of grey, light green and pastels. The masks were made by Anna Alexandra on Mallorca and the stools of modeling clay – yes, correct – Diego Faivre by hand.
The Café Montesol was already finished in 2021 and is a refuge to escape the summer sun or cooler temperatures. Chef Alex Larrea creates local meals with regional products. Tapas to share that can be enjoyed with a cold beer or some the best Spanish wines by small producers. A place to spend the evening with friends. The embodiment of decades of stories that travel from table to table.
