The traditional history of the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich begins on Christmas Eve 1838, when the young baker Johannes Baur from Vorarlberg opened the city’s first grand hotel, the Hotel Baur. 185 years later, also on Christmas Day, the Zurich icon shone in new splendor after a comprehensive renovation and has been welcoming international and local guests alike ever since.

The hotel was completely redesigned by Parisian interior designer Tristan Auer. He has seamlessly combined historical details with contemporary style and has done everything to optimize the extraordinary view of Zurich’s landmark. Many of the 44 rooms and 36 suites have spacious balconies or roof terraces, while inside, beauty and functionality are finely intertwined to create hideaways inspired by the colors of the city and Zurich’s art scene.

With four restaurant and bar concepts, led by chef Benjamin Halat, the hotel spoils its guests with a variety of culinary delights. The glamorous Savoy Brasserie & Bar serves French-inspired dishes, Swiss classics and signature cocktails all day long. ORSINI is an Italian fine-dining restaurant designed by Antonio Guida, head chef of the two Michelin-starred Seta restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental in Milan. Finally, the Mandarin Lounge is a wonderful place to relax after a day of shopping or sightseeing. The 1838 Rooftop Bar offers panoramic views of the city center and the Swiss Alps.
