“Joia” means “jewel” in Portuguese. The first London restaurant of the same name by two Michelin-starred Portuguese chef Henrique Sá Pessoa lives up to its name in culinary and design terms.

Joia is located in the art’otel London Battersea Power Station and comprises a restaurant on the 15th floor and a bar on the 14th floor. Russell Sage has bathed the interiors of the 85-seat gourmet temple in soothing shades of pink, paying homage to the art deco origins of the power station.

Jade-green seating and salmon-colored benches continue the jewel theme, with midcentury elements coming via rich wood floors, arched openings, “porthole” mirrors and brass accents. Adjacent to the kitchen is a Chef’s Table, positioned in the restaurant and overlooking the power station and kitchen.

The restaurant also houses a sommelier station, which is visible from all points of the restaurant
