No matter where you sit in this rooftop restaurant, you always have a breathtaking view – of the Tagus, the setting sun, the rooftops of Lisbon. Then you take a second look and are delighted to discover that Java is by no means content to be an extra in a spectacular setting. Perrine Velge’s design is just as stunning: blue velvet seating islands, terracotta tiles that look like they’re talking to the surrounding rooftops, lots of cacti, voluminous midcentury globe lights by Holophane, a beautiful open kitchen.
