It’s a good idea to carry the South American jungle to Athens instead of owls. At Iguazu, named after the breathtakingly beautiful waterfalls on the border between Brazil and Argentina, this works so well that it’s hard to stop marveling.

You eat in an environment that throws itself uninhibitedly into the arms of the exotic: lots of tropical plants, wood hanging from the ceiling, toucans and parrots on the plates, a giant monkey sculpture, lights that look like pineapples, mystical lighting, a hyper-theatrical atmosphere.

First-class picanha, Argentine steaks, Brazilian sushi and cocktails with the courage of color are served, and later bands and DJs heat up tropical nights. You won’t find a wilder jungle in Athens.

The Iguazu serves quite eccentric cocktails like “The Broken Down Grave”, whose ingredients list includes some weirdness
