This charming art and design hotel is located in a heritage-protected bailiff’s estate, consisting of two buildings dating from 1686 and two modern houses. Between the historic walls, guests enjoy a refuge that preserves the time-honored and combines it with modern elements.
In addition to stucco ceilings, rose lace floors and painted wooden floors, designer furniture, classics, antiques and contemporary objects and paintings make the Engelwirt a total work of art. In the main building, a café, a salon and a regional store with local products delight vacationers and locals alike.
The shades of red, orange and blue run consistently through the interior. Antique furnishings have been given new upholstery and colorful fabrics, contributing to a homely atmosphere.
Carefully selected works by international artists such as Michael Sailstorfer, Matías Manuel Sánchez, Jana Gunstheimer and Paul Kooiker underline the design of the design hotel.
