Colca is Eduardo Vargas’ Shanghai restaurant. He is passionate gastronomer and star chef at the same time. With this project, he returns to his Peruvian roots. The name of the restaurant refers to the Colca Canyon, one of Peru’s most famous geographic landmarks.
The multinational Studio Doho is responsible for the colorful interior. The canyon is sketched in bright contours, the remaining walls are adorned with art from Vargas’ extensive private collection.
Time runs differently in the surrounding French-Concession quarter. Or at least a little slower than in the bustling rest of Shanghai. Parkways, European inspired architecture, small shops and cafés can be discovered during extended walks.
