Shanghai

The Bund and its heyday – when Shanghai was better known as the Pairs of the East – served as inspiration for the first Bellagio outside the Americas.

Cream white and black are the dominating colors of the lobby, a protruding staircase and a similar chandelier function as a contemporary interpretation of art-déco.

The strong European influence of the period is as omnipresent here as the shine and glamour of the 30s.

Studio Munge is responsible for the restaurant Lago on the sixth floor. Its interior is inspired by the dynamic esthetic of the Italian Futurismo – as easily recognized in the hallway that is lined with a seemingly endless row of blue shimmering fins.
