Iceland’s Brygge is one of Copenhagen’s most trendy districts – a former industrial area by the water, it was long left to itself. Since the beginning of the 21st Century, it has been massively upgraded, characterized by an attractive mix of old buildings and ambitious contemporary architecture.

In the middle of it: the Bryggen Guldsmeden, 212 rooms, furnished in the typical style of the boutique hotel chain that describes itself as “Nordic meets Bali”: lots of color, many plants, glass mosaics, huge lamps with dark green fish, raw walls, four-poster beds. anzen, Glasmosaike, riesige Lampen mit flaschengrünen gläsernen Fischen, unverputzte Wände, Himmelbetten.

The hotel values sustainability: the mattresses, the bedding and pillows are filled with the wool of “happy, lovingly combed” animals, the textiles in the baths are made of ecological and recycling fabrics and the restaurant Sole Factory only serves organic ingredients.

The art works on the walls are DIY – made by the father of the hotel owner.

Thanks to a special Nasa technology, 50 – 90% of water is saved when showering.
