Dolce Vita under the Open Sky

It is simply part of the Italian culture to enjoy life outside. Nowhere else is the Dolce Vita sweeter as in the gardens on the Piazzas or terraces of the sun-kissed country. The fact that a furniture manufacturer rooted firmly in Italy as EMU has set its focus on the design and production of outdoor furniture is almost natural.

The company’s history reaches back to the 50s – and even if production techniques have changed since then to always reach highest demands regarding quality and functionality – the products always combine tradition with innovation  as well as timelessness with refinement. As called for for an Italian manufacturer, the production takes place locally in its own plant in Marsciano in the heart of Umbria.

From there, the finest Italian design culture is shipped to 85 countries around the globe. A stunning and unique design that is marked by stylish elegance and harmonious shapes. Through the collaboration with international designers such as Arik Levy, Christophe Pillet, Paola Navone, Patricia Urquiola, Jean Marie Massaud, Stefan Diez, Jean Nouvel, Sebastian Herkner or Patrick Norguet, EMU manages to constantly refine the design of its collections.

For this purpose, the company set up the Design&Simulation Centre, a research and development center that works on reflecting experience and idea exchange with renowned as well as upcoming designers. What is special about this is that product development takes place under realistic conditions. Of course, for EMU that means under open skies.
