For its first monobrand store, Aether Apparel chose The Proxy in Hayes Valley. Architects Envelope A&Dwere responsible and strongly supported by the store managers. The main idea: To turn three recycled shipping containers into a concept store. They integrated glass and metal components, a glass porch lounge and a metal conveyor belt to present the collection.
Store management wanted to work exclusively with local suppliers. All metal details were implemented by Chris Frechn Metal, Inc., from San Francisco.
