The Lokami by Herzog & de Meuron builds the intersection between the closed Novartis company campus and the public promenade by the Rhine river.
The interior features massive oak sticks that are partially arranged openly, partially closed. Throughout all areas – the restaurant, the lounge as well as the bar – an almost black skin stretches across this oak dress and creates a contrasty depth.
This way, a playful contrast has been created in the white painted lounges. The bar sets its focus on selected elements such as a long bar counter and the four striking large lamps.
Sitting corners in the back and separating walls create intimate areas.
Special Tips
On the menu, Japan meets Switzerland: Aargau rabbit with mushrooms, miso and smoke is among the more creative dishes.
