Café Restaurant
London

Twice a day, a stunning show takes place at the Yen: the two Soba specialists of the restaurant, Maruno Hidenori and Katsuki Sakurai, make the traditional Japanese buckwheat noodles in an artistic manner.  Thanks to the glass walls of the room, guests can watch them in the process.

The design of the restaurant is not less impressive. Its concept focuses on Japanese materials, shape principles and construction approaches. The acorn tree-like structures on the pillars and the roof have been inspired by bamboo forests and make for striking design elements.

The hand painted Japanese style wallpapers make for a lovely detail. Their leaf pattern match the concept of a bamboo forest perfectly and create a special atmosphere. Certainly the perfect surrounding for an excellent Soba noodle!

London’s architecture studio Sybarite highlights the high ceiling with a structure inspired by bamboo forests that reming of treetops.
