Does another luxury hotel have a right to exist in a city that almost bursting from them? Yes! The Edition is not an ordinary hotel: It is located in the famous Clocktower and combines the spirit of the Gilded Age with Manhattan’s contemporary sophisticated elegance. The restaurant has a bar and restaurant and from the 29th – 31st level three stunning suites. Each is 130 m2 large and offers a 180° view over the city. The lobby and public areas have been inspired by the Venetian renaissance architecture. This has been combined with furniture and fabrics by Christian Liaigre and echos of designers Jean-Michel Frank and Erik Kolling Andersen.
The Clocktower was completed in 1893 and resembles Venetian renaissance architecture. The era of these buildings is called the ‘Gilded Age’.
