Ever since Eckart Witzigmann earned two Michelin stars in the 1970s, Tantris has been a culinary institution. It closed for extensive renovations at the end of 2020 and did not reopen until October 2021. The restaurant’s distinctive character has been preserved.

In its realignment as Maison Culinaire, it now consists of two independent restaurants with the same design language and the same high culinary standards: the menu restaurant has been joined by the new Tantris DNA, which serves French cuisine à la carte, including classics created here.

The food is served in comfortable armchairs in lobster red. Where there was an open grill in Eckart Witzigmann’s day, there is now a glassed-in daytime wine cellar.

A new seating area has been created at the former daytime wine cellar, where guests can chat while enjoying bar service with a view of what’s happening in the restaurant
