Dennis van Roon, Tobias Schuijt and Fardau Plantenga wanted to create something totally un-Dutch – that was the starting point for the joint restaurant Satchmo, named after jazz legend Louis Armstrong. For the interior of the restaurant, located in the historic Brusse & Gansberg building from 1647 in the middle of Amsterdam’s center, Plantega with interior designer Mehdi Le Mair composed a sensual material mix: marble walls meet opulent copper chandeliers, velvet sofas meet brass details. The interplay of saturated colors are supposed to, according to Plantega, who has his roots in the fashion world, enable a trip to those times in which it was less of a given and more glamorous to dine out than today.

All ways inevitable lead to the Onyx Bar! With its sparkling texture, the center piece attracts all views.
