Update of one of Prague’s established boutique hotels by the design studio Conran and Partners: The rework of the Maximilian encompasses 71 guest rooms as well as parts of the ground floor.
The objective was to create public spaces such as a café and a bar, a brasserie, a library and event space with a garden in the patio. The rooms focus on intense colors and combine deep blue with oak carpentry work, structured glass, mirrors and brass details.
Custom made bed heads point out the craftsman tradition of basket weaving.
Art can be found as a homage to the Czech avant-garde movement – for example with photo montages by Karel Teige.
