The renovation of the dungeons on the Prague Dam received a lot of attention. Twenty cells were were brought back to life in total.

The most striking element is round windows that also serve as entrances. Architect Petr Janda is the brain behind the concept. He also pays tribune to history.

Cell # 9, whose interior was designed by Studio Vera Hampl Architects, has served Prague’s steamship company since 155 years – and this tradition needed to be continued.

The storage room was turned into an exhibition of the history of the steamship in Prague as well as a small café – perfect to spend time waiting on a Moldova cruise.

This part of the river shore is called Náplavka and is very popular among locals – especially on mild spring and summer evenings.
