From the outside, the facade radiates as it did when it was built in 1870. On the inside, architect Inma Rábano and the design duo Blankslate gave the Hotel Brummell its unique identity. Inspiration came from several stays on Sri Lanka by hotel owner Christian Schallert and his passion for Geoffrey Bawa’s “tropical modernism“.
Sounds good? It is. Thanks to a contemporary design that does not bore, offers a lot of lightness that never seems superficial and a roof terrace pool that is not over the top. And for sure: where you find a hop district as Poble Sec in front of your door and a vintage gym in the house, hipsters will not be far.
