Amsterdam has always been a destination that attracts free spirits – as is true for most harbor cities. The Highlander hotel wants to live this open-mindedness. The hotel interior is just as colorful as Amsterdam’s life in front of its doors. The name Hoogland of the Dutch owner family – the business is in the hands of the sibling trio Jeffrey, Maxine and Steffan – was translated into English by Will Erens of Too Many Agencies and developed into a Scottish Highlander theme. This travels throughout the entire hotel: Every floor was endowed with its own Tartan pattern, the 31 rooms are kept on its floors color scheme.
