The restaurant at The Lodge hotel sees itself as a tribute to all Dona Marias – Portugal’s guardians of home cooking traditions. Here, Dona Maria is dressed in autumnal hues and organic shapes, matched by giant vine leaves on the ceiling.
Marble, velvet and wood dominate the dining areas, sometimes open, sometimes retreating into more intimate alcoves. The beautiful terrace overlooks Porto. The “Sala dos Vinte,” intended for private events, surprises with a table in the shape of a suitcase and a barrel-shaped pendant light; in the “Sala dos Trinta,” an eleven-meter light fixture evokes flowing wine.
