Design Post

Store
Cologne

First thing first: there is nothing for sale at the Design Post. Nevertheless, a visit is still worth it. But let’s start at hte beginning. the three-hinged arch building of the Deutz postal office was build from 1919-14 and served as a package distribution center for decades. Almost 100 years later Dutch architects O III reconstructed the disused and protected historic building. Since 2006, the Design Post is a permanent showroom for over 30 international furniture and design brands. With its area of 3,000 square meters, it has become a source of inspiration and information for architects, manufacturers, planners, designers and consumers. Consultation and advice are the focus here, not selling. Without pressure to buy, all can experience colors, dimensions, fabrics etc live and in color.

Some exhibitors show their designs on two levels. So it is definitely worth it to go upstairs. Also because the upper floor allows for a great view across the hall.
