The Côte d’Azur has always been used to elegance: at the beginning of 2023, the Anantara Plaza Nice Hotel finally made its glamorous debut here – and in a real architectural gem. After extensive renovation, the five-star property opened in a listed building on the famous Promenade des anglais on Nice beach. The 175-year-old property welcomes guests with 151 luxurious rooms and suites, many with sea-view terraces or balconies, a new Anantara Spa, a stylish rooftop restaurant and bar with grand panoramic views of the Baie des Anges and the old town.
The interior exudes Belle Époque flair, combining the neoclassical style of the original hotel, which opened in 1848 as the first luxury hotel in Nice, with modern influences. Inspired by the sparkle of the Mediterranean and the Mediterranean surroundings, the rooms combine comfort and sophistication. For example, the marble-clad interiors overlooking the sea or surrounding gardens are in pastel tones, creating a tranquil atmosphere, spiced up with accents of wood and gold.
The hotel’s own restaurant Seen by Olivier offers a 360-degree view and delicacies from the Mediterranean Sea such as sea urchins and oysters.
