Grumpy kids will have to limit their experience to looking at the pretty Art-déco and Mediterranean revival facade of the hotel. The 29 room small house in Miami South of Fifth is an adult-only boutique hotel.

Originally built in the 30s, it was re-opened in 2017 after throrough renovation. Miami’s architect Amilcar Melendez commissioned Stephen Busto for the interior design, who created an eclectic lobby and antique elements and kept original features such as the Cuban tile floor and the Art-déco fire place.

Individual items can also be found in the guest rooms – like silhouettes by Canadian artist Edward Bader or a paper butterfly swarm by Kyoto’s Origami master Yumiko.

The hotel refers to a 19th Century visionary business woman: Julia Tuttle, the ‘mother of Miami’.
