Norway’s culinary landscape was a black hole for a long time. But now the gastronomy hype of the Nordic countries is spilling over here. As most hip Scandinavian restaurants, the Kontrast only works with local and seasonal products. The veggies are all organic, the meat comes from happy animals. Chef Mikael Svensson arranges his meals like works of modern art – which earned him a Michelin Star. The restaurant’s interior concept was developed by Copenhagen’s design label &tradition. You will find lots of natural materials, a bit of industrial chic and tasty lighting for long, dark winter nights. This relaxed atmosphere fits the region’s laid-back reputation. You will find it difficult to find another star restaurant in continental Europe with a similarly casual spirit.
