Built on the site of an 1840s blacksmith’s shop, the hotel is a declaration of love to Melbourne’s history. While the understated interiors highlight Melbourne’s urban fabric, the 277 guest rooms feature a soothing palette with splashes of color.
The eye-catching, handcrafted side table “cubes” made from forest green glazed porcelain tiles by Porcelain Bear are particularly eye-catching. Custom brass door handles and sculptures by artisan Suzie Stanford depicting local flora and fauna add a whimsical touch to the rooms.
Photographs of artifacts uncovered during construction are exhibited in the restaurant on the top floor
