Stones flew when a branch of a renown fast food chain opened in Kreuzberg 10 years ago. A luxury hotel in the middle of this alternative quarter hence seems like a courageous endeavor.

But the hotel located in an elegant art-nouveau house directly on the Oranienplatz wants to be more than another luxury resort for the rich. The Orania wants to be a place for the artistically inclined and build a link to the musical and literary tradition of its partner hotel Schloss Elmau in the Bavarian alps: concerts and readings by Berlin artists are a firm part of the concept.

The interior design assures a warm and cozy atmosphere. Golden elephants on red fabric alight all over the hotel and set an oriental accent.

Tired of the hectic city buzz? Then head to the Orania.Salon and hang out on cozy sofas and chairs in front of the open fireplace while reading a book from the in-house library.
