Opened in April 2021 on the first floor of the Avani Avenida Liberdade hotel, this Japanese restaurant immediately became the hottest Asian restaurant in Lisbon. This has not only to do with the creative sushi creations of the go-getting Chefpreneur Olivier da Costa, but also with Deckora Design.
The interior designers created a refined, eccentric environment with fine walnut details, polished stone surfaces and impressive geisha paintings. Eye-catching at the entrance is a blue samurai suit of armor, softer the cocktail bar counter, which features cream leather stools, fine onyx surfaces and exciting greenery.
A 5-by-10-foot rectangular and central sushi counter stretches out beneath a backlit textile ceiling with Japanese fish motifs. Its masculine austerity of walnut slats and slate creates a stage for the dramatic plates served here.
