The Wartesaal has a long history. It dates back to the year 1915 when the southern dado of Cologne’s art-nouveau station concourse was built for waiting passengers.
After German TV host and hobby cook Alfred Bielke opened his restaurant in the location in 1983, it was thoroughly refurbished. Over a million Euro was invested. The art nouveau architecture was kept in most parts.

Since then, guests can enjoy unique dishes while enjoying the view of Cologne’s Dom: turnip mille-feuille (goat cheese mousse, sesame phyllo and mango pepper vinaigrette) or barded rabbit filet (balsamic lentils, merguez, endive salad and ratatouille jam).

The Blue Sunday Brunch is served on Sundays between noon and 4 pm.
