Edinburgh’s lively St. James Quarter is buzzing. Just the right place for a W Hotel that combines modern style and Scotland’s rich culture. The iconic Ribbon Building with its eye-catching architecture offers 360-degree views of the city from the rooftop terrace – from Arthur’s Seat to the coast. Creative types can let off steam in the Sound Suite – a professional music studio – the first of its kind in the UK.
The hotel attracts guests with 199 lovingly designed rooms and 45 suites – including the “Extreme Wow Suite” with a private sauna, round super king-size bed and a terrace with a view of Edinburgh Castle. The design combines natural elements, Scottish traditions and local influences – from rustic stone facades to modern color accents. Materials such as “charred” wood or copper and details such as deconstructed tartan patterns and natural stone are seamlessly integrated into the rooms. They create a unique and sophisticated environment.
Culinary highlights include Scotland’s first sushi samba, the W Lounge with reinterpreted Gaelic dishes and a speakeasy called João’s Place. There is also a luxurious spa area and a wide range of events – a real hotspot for Edinburgh.
The partner of the in-house Away Spa is the Scottish cosmetics company Ishga, which makes use of the active ingredients of the organic algae extract from the Hebridean island
